We love our volunteers because they are priceless!

What we do couldn't be done without their help! We are always looking for great people to come down and assist us with becoming a parenting coach, clothes sorting, or office duties. If you're interested in being a volunteer stop by or give us a call.

A little about our volunteers

Concert For Life 2011 170_edited.jpg

After retiring as a bus driver, volunteering somewhere besides at church was what I wanted to do. While looking for a place to bring my grandchildren's gently used clothes, I found New Life Options. I filled out the application and began working as a general helper. Washing clothes, sorting and stocking shelves, assisting with some paper work were some of the duties that I fulfilled. I was unsure that I could be a client coach, but God knew that I could.  A training course for mentors was given. This training helped me to understand what we are to do with the clients. The staff was always willing to answer any questions! I have met many young clients that are grateful for the lessons and tips they receive about properly caring for their child(ren). The clients also feel a great deal of pride when they shop in the stores and are able to make these purchases with the Baby Bucks.  I’d like to encourage all those who are looking to find something to do in their spare time, to come down and take a tour of the facility and see for themselves how beneficial New Life Options is to our community.

Parenting Coach

Greetings friends! I'd like to take a minute to introduce myself.

My name is DeAnne Pesognelli and I began volunteering weekly as a Parenting Coach at

NEW LIFE OPTIONS in April 2016. My husband Dominick and I have made Monongahela our home for the past 30 years. We have one child. Our beloved daughter Deidre lives in Morgantown, WV with her husband Sean O'Dell. There, she attends WVU (in a Ph. D program). I work full time as a skilled care/rehabilitation therapist in the Occupational Therapy department at the Mon Valley Care Center. Also, I attend The Christian Center Church in Belle Vernon where I have the pleasure of worshiping along side of some of the most amazing people in the Mon Valley. I truly enjoy volunteering as a coach at Options becauseI have the  privilege of taking part in the excitement of expectant mothers as they await the birth of their baby. The Earn While You Learn program allows me to offer education, encouragement and support to new moms (and dads). The curriculum covers a wide arrayof topics that is geared to ease the anxiety and fears of new parents. Our clients especially enjoy "shopping" after class each week for their child. I invite you to come and check outthe center for yourself. We are here to aid the expectant and new parents throughout our community who are in need of the assistance we offer. As always, we are on the lookout for volunteers and donations to keep this much needed program thriving.

Thanks for taking the time to allow me to share my heart.

May God fill your life with love, peace and joy.
Blessings!!    DeAnnne
